What You Need To Know
What's it all about?
The ‘6 Peaks Charity Challenge for Mental Health’ is being organised by The Wilderness Programme and event takes place on Saturday 21st September 2024 with participants arriving the day before.
How Tough is It?
• This is a strenuous walk that presents no technical difficulties. The walk starts and ends at the village of Buttermere, which is situated on the shores of the lake with the same name.

Start/finish: Buttermere
Length: 22.8 km / 14.0 miles
Ascent: 1758 metres / 5800 feet
Grade: Hard
Target time: 10 hours
How much do I need to raise?
Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £500.00 to be donated to The Wilderness Programme.
Transport and Transfers
For those arriving by train, a return road transfer to Buttermere will be provided. The inbound transfer will be coordinated with all those arriving by train for a single transfer journey. For those arriving by road there is ample parking at our site in Buttermere.
Camping & Facilities
TWP will provide an adequate number of large tents for participants to share (upto 4px per tent*), however you may bring your own tent if you wish. All participants must bring their own sleeping bags and overnight equipment. Showers and toilets are provided. *Limited to 30px
What's Included
Event Registration, Two Nights Camping in Buttermere (Tents* Provided by TWP), All Meals, Snacks & Refreshments including Celebratory Meal, Mountain Guides, First Aid, Radio & Safety cover, Vehicle Support, Public Liability Insurance.
What's Not Included
Personal Accident Insurance, Outdoor Clothing or Equipment, Sleeping Bags/ Overnight Kit. Participants MUST bring their own sleeping bags and overnight kit.

* I accept the following terms for my own entry. I also accept the terms on behalf of any other participants I am entering in this event, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these terms and accept them:
- I accept the hazards inherent in fell walking and acknowledge that I am entering and walking in this event at my own risk.
- I confirm that I am aware of the rules imposed on me by the Event Organiser and that I will comply with them.
- I acknowledge and agree that I am responsible for determining whether I have the skills equipment and fitness to participate in this event.
- I accept that neither the Event Organiser nor any Event officials as appointed by TWP; shall be liable to me for any injury, loss or damage of any nature to me or my property arising out of my participation in this race (other than in respect of death or personal injury as a result of their negligence).
- I accept that the Event Organiser may use photographic or video equipment for the purpose of monitoring the race.
- I accept that the Event Organiser may use photographic stills or video footage for the purpose of promoting the event in future.
