RSPB LogoWe have been operating at the RSPB Haweswater nature reserve in The Lake District National Park, Cumbria since 2017. The reserve encompasses 30 square kilometres of mossy woodland, rushing streams, moorland, heath and bog, set within a dramatic mountainous landscape on the eastern edge of the Lake District National Park.

Haweswater’s rugged landscape can be discovered through a variety of hiking trails, ancient woodland,
rushing streams and rolling heath and moorland. We work closely with RSPB staff to help support their objectives by way of actively involving participants in the reserves many conservation tasks such as assisting with the reserves tree planting scheme. In addition RSPB staff are on hand to provide guidance and interaction on wildlife and nature watching walks in and around the reserve. Haweswater provides us with a highly accessible, yet natural and remote setting ideally suited to TWP just 30 minutes transfer by road from Penrith.

Robens LogoCreating a safe environment for participants is crucial to the outcomes of the programme, so we have worked closely with Robens to develop and refine our 'expedition class' operation to provide a unique 'Safari Style' base camp experience.

This not only provides a safe, warm and dry refuge from the elements, whatever the weather, and at anytime of the year but which is ecologically sound and low impact on the environment whilst providing for all basic human needs to a high degree of comfort.

We continuously invest in high performance equipment and have partnerships with other leading brands to ensure The Wilderness Programme experience is delivered to the highest possible standards.
