Ian Mitchell - Chair of Trustees 
Retired after 41 years' service with Severn Trent Water, managing a Water Regulatory and Water Quality Team based at Severn Trent's head office in Coventry. Ian is currently a Trustee for two other groups – Barrow Upon

 Soar Scout Group and the Oaks in Charnwood Scout Camp and Activity Centre.

Brother of lead Psychologist Stephen Mitchell, Ian has many years' experience involved with scouting and encourages young people to get involved with the Scouting Movement which aims to help young people develop confidence and independence, learning life skills to help them cope in today's challenging society.

Ian enjoys the outdoors and open space and spends a lot of his time on the UK's network of canals with his wife Annette on their narrow boat Lady Kathryn. He is also a keen skier and likes nothing better than spending time in the beautiful Austrian Alps.

 

Peter Slack - Trustee 
Pete has worked in manufacturing industries all his adult life and is currently Group Executive Vice President, Operations at Handicare Group. For approx. the last 15 years he and his various teams have benefited from the skills of TWP's leaders and he has become a passionate advocate for the life-changing and life-enhancing experiences they provide.

Born and bred in the Black Country, he now resides in Shropshire with his wife, son and
dogs. Non-working time is spent enjoying walks with the dogs, reading, cooking - especially outdoors, watching sports and escaping up a hill or mountain (either to come down on skis or on foot) when time allows.

 

Helen Ridehalgh - Trustee/ Secretary 
Helen graduated in 1999 with a BSc in Biochemistry which led her into a career within the pharmaceutical industry working in many roles including sales, management, training, and marketing. Helen has also worked abroad in a corporate training manager role in China where she lived for 6 years.

Helen’s current role is in Medical Education within the Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism therapy area for health care professionals. Outside of work Helen has started an MSc in Mental Health Science, is a mother of two, a keen traveller, enjoys open water swimming, skiing, scuba diving, and hill walking.

 

James Stewart - Trustee
After an extensive career in management in the construction and civil engineering industry in the UK, James took early retirement to live a more peaceful life in Portugal, with his wife Liane.

Together, they enjoy growing and producing most of their own food, living a sustainable life ‘off-grid’ in the quietness of the mountains. This provides an ideal location for James’s passion for road cycling.

After sobering up at age 30, and kicking his own alcohol addiction, James finds it immensely important to work closely and voluntarily with people in recovery of their own alcohol addiction problems.
